AN “EVERY DAY” COMMITMENT

Buzz Williams is the basketball coach at Texas A&M.  I caught a video of him speaking to his team before they began practice for the coming season.

His theme was the difficulty of “every day.”  His point was that teams are built, programs are created, and success is achieved on the steady improvements made “every day.”

He noted that success doesn’t jump up in leaps and bounds.  It comes through dedicated “every day” effort where you stack minor improvements on top of small improvements for days at a time.  You make your teammates better.  You find new ways to collaborate.  You do it “every day.”

William’s encouragement was for his players to be “every day” guys.  The promise was that “every day” guys don’t regret their commitment to the process.

Are you an “every day” player?
