“Progress means getting nearer to the place you want to be. And if you have taken a wrong turning, then to go forward does not get you any nearer. If you are on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road.” – C.S. Lewis
Are you on the right road?
Lewis reminds us that moving faster, staying longer, or trying harder won’t bring progress if we’re on the wrong path.
It takes humility to assess our choices and consider whether we’ve taken a wrong turn. It also takes wisdom to seek guidance from others who might help point us in a better direction.
Most people don’t like the thought of backtracking. I know I don’t. But sometimes, the only way forward is to turn back.
