Not sure about your plans for the 4th but Richard Stinson who directs safety efforts for the treating team sent this out. It’s worth repeating:
As we roll into the 4th of July, let’s take a moment to drop a few reminders about celebrating our freedom responsibly. Yes, you can be responsible and still have fun!
Traffic:
- The roads will be packed for the next few days
- Watch your speed
- Put the phone down
- Maintain situational awareness
Drinking & Driving:
- Don’t do it
- Call a cab, Uber, Lyft, or any other available service
- Most establishments will call a cab for you, just ask!
- Don’t risk your career
- Don’t risk your family, or someone else’s
- It isn’t worth it
Fireworks:
- Meant to be used outside……no brainer
- Make sure you aren’t going to catch anything on fire
- Be respectful of your surroundings/neighbors
On the water:
- Waterways will be busy, be prepared
- Do not drink and operate any watercraft
- PFD’s are required for every person on the boat
- Wear the PFD’s while underway
- Stay vigilant of another watercraft
- Be courteous at boat ramps
