“Don’t let osmosis determine your environment.”
Heard this in a seminar today. Here’s how I heard it. The point is to remind us our environment will settle into whatever condition we let it settle into. If you don’t act to make it into something productive, it won’t be.
So, how do you impact your environment?
You say encouraging words.
You suggest and strive for ways to make it better.
You inspire others with your habits.
You hold others accountable to higher standards.
You teach teammates who need more knowledge.
You learn from teammates who have more knowledge.
You help paint the picture of a brighter future and remind others of the goal when the going is tough.
If your environment is to be what you design, you have to work it every day.
