I was interviewing a candidate who asked me what I appreciated most about being part of our team.
I said that a primary reason I enjoy my job is the quality of people I encounter. For the most part, every colleague I interact with is kind and respectful.
I’ve had three occasions this week where a customer or vendor told me how much they appreciated working with members of our team. They cited responsiveness to problems. They cited our ability to come up with innovative solutions. They cited how much they just enjoyed the person they were describing.
“Kindness” is a killer app. Is “kind” a way someone would describe you? If not, get to work. Life’s too short to work with “unkind” people.
