Hall of Fame basketball coach Geno Auriemma describes teamwork this way: “Be the best at your role. What would a piano recital be like if the guy who puts the piano on the stage doesn’t do it? Some people lug the piano, some play it.”
Because we don’t have all the teammates we need, all of our locations have lean teams. When someone is out, we aren’t as good as we can be.
If there is a plus to being shorthanded, it’s having to try new things and coming up with new ways to accommodate the shortages. We develop new methods. We learn new skills.
But, back to the original thought: There ain’t no concert, if there isn’t a piano. The role you play is important. You are needed. And so are all your teammates.
