Still thinking about managing transitions (wanted or unwanted):
Activate Commitment
Develop Resources
Adjust Expectations
Prioritize Action
Prioritize Action has a double meaning. As you get committed to navigate the transition and acquire resources, you have a plan developing. As you get started, things shift around in unexpected ways, some good, some could be better. Thus, your plan may shift too.
But, what is critical is that you regularly consider “what’s important now” and you take action. While there will be times of reflection and rest as a transition continues, you try to “happen” to a successful transition.
To “happen” means survey path, choose the action, get to work, evaluate and adjust.
Commitment is a heart and mind thing if activated. Prioritized Action is adding muscle to the heart and mind.
