MOMENTS ARE HERE AND NOW…

“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.”  ~ John Wesley

John Wesley founded the Methodist Church.  He was a deep thinker about making a difference.

I was listening to a podcast recently where Tim Kight and Urban Meyer were discussing the “power” of moments.

Their point was that a game or a work day or a marriage or a career can seem long when taken as a whole.  But, if you think about it, all those things are a series of moments.

Moments are here and now.  You can’t recover moments.  You can’t bring them along faster.  Your moment is immediate.

Kight and Meyer suggest a mentality of “winning” the moment.  Their idea is that no matter what’s happened up to now, you have the opportunity to “win” in the current moment.

Those who master “moments” thinking are intentional about making a difference.  Right now.  Right here.  They are attuned to the present.  They aren’t regretful.  They aren’t complacent.  They aren’t entitled nor pouting.

They focus on what’s in front of them.  Then do the best they can.
