PLANTING SEEDS OF SUCCESS

The following is a quote sent to me by one of our IT team members:

“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.” – Robert Louis Stevenson

Harvests are frequently subject to factors that are out of our control. You can plow the field. Sow the seeds. Spread the fertilizer. Diligently weed and water. But you can’t impact the weather or the rainfall. Winds tear through. The sun scorches. The soil must be right.

Many a farmer has done the best they could and still not had an ideal harvest. There’s an element of faith that goes with planting and harvesting. That’s just how it is.

But the analogy reminds me that in order to receive a bountiful harvest, I have to first plant the seeds. Not every harvest will be plentiful, but no harvest will come if I don’t put the work in.

So put in the work. Let that be the measure of your success. It’s the wise approach.
